WHAT MAKES
AN ORGANISATION OUTSTANDING?

Organisational excellence is more than achieving strong results. It is about building an organisation that understands why it exists, where it wants to go and how its people contribute to making it happen.

IT STARTS WITH PURPOSE AND PEOPLE.

Organisations that perform at their best have a clear purpose and direction — and people who understand their role in achieving it. They create a culture where people are trusted to contribute, encouraged to learn and empowered to improve the way things are done.

They listen to their customers and stakeholders, understand changing expectations and turn this understanding into meaningful and lasting value.

They are also prepared to question themselves. What are we doing well? Where are we falling short? What can we learn? What needs to change? And how can we do better tomorrow?

Organisational excellence brings these elements together — purpose, people, culture, leadership, strategy, improvement and results — helping organisations strengthen performance today while building the capability to succeed tomorrow.

Because organisational excellence is not a destination.

It is the continuous practice of learning, improving and creating lasting value.

CREATING VALUE THAT LASTS

STRONGER PERFORMANCE

Decisions and improvements are supported by evidence and results.

Organisations do not exist for themselves. Their success depends on the value they create for the people they serve, the people who work within them and the wider society in which they operate.

Organisational excellence helps organisations understand the needs and expectations of their stakeholders, balance different priorities and translate purpose into results that can be sustained over time.

POSITIVE IMPACT

The organisation considers its longer-term contribution to society and its future.

ENGAGED PEOPLE

People understand their contribution and participate in improvement.

Customers, partners and other stakeholders experience meaningful value.

05 — BUILD A CULTURE OF CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Turn improvement into an ongoing organisational practice.

Organisational excellence does not finish when the self-assessment is completed or an improvement plan is prepared. The next step is to put improvement actions into practice, follow their progress and learn from the results.

Your organisation implements the selected improvement priorities, monitors what is changing and regularly reviews whether the actions are producing the intended results. Feedback from people, customers and other stakeholders provides further opportunities for learning and improvement.

Over time, assessment, learning and improvement become part of the way the organisation works rather than activities carried out only occasionally. Regular self-assessment helps you review progress, recognise new strengths, identify further improvement opportunities and set new priorities.

Eurofortis can continue to support your organisation during this process where additional consultancy, training, facilitation or guidance is useful.

For organisations that decide to take the next step towards EFQM Recognition, Eurofortis can also provide dedicated support in preparing for the recognition process. We help your team understand the requirements, review readiness, identify areas requiring further attention and prepare the organisation and relevant evidence for external assessment.

EFQM Recognition is not the end of the improvement journey. It can provide an important external reference point while the organisation continues to learn, improve and strengthen its practices over time.

IMPROVEMENT → REVIEW → LEARNING →  RECOGNITION / REASSESSMENT

04 — TURN FINDINGS INTO PRIORITIES

Turn assessment results into a focused improvement plan.

Completing the self-assessment is not the end of the process. Its real value comes from understanding the findings and deciding where improvement efforts should be focused.

The self-assessment results are reviewed and consolidated, bringing together identified strengths, areas for improvement, supporting evidence and different views from the assessment team. Improvement opportunities can then be discussed and prioritised according to their importance, urgency and potential value for the organisation.

Based on these priorities, your team can develop a focused improvement plan, defining what should be addressed, who should be involved, what actions are needed and how progress will be followed.

Depending on your organisation's experience and needs, this process can be managed independently by your own team or supported by Eurofortis. We can assist with consolidation of assessment findings, facilitate prioritisation discussions and support the development of practical improvement actions and plans.

The aim is not to address every identified improvement opportunity at once. It is to make informed choices about what matters most, what is realistic and where action can create the greatest value.

CONSOLIDATION → PRIORITISATION → PLANNING

03 — ASSESS WHERE YOU ARE

Put your knowledge into practice through self-assessment.

Once your team has developed the necessary knowledge, the next step is to gain a structured and evidence-based understanding of where your organisation stands today.

Using the EFQM Model and RADAR logic, your self-assessment team reviews the organisation's practices and results, considers relevant evidence and identifies both strengths and opportunities for improvement.

Depending on your organisation's experience and needs, the self-assessment can be managed independently by your own team or supported by Eurofortis. We can provide methodological guidance, facilitate individual stages of the assessment or assist your team throughout the whole process.

Self-assessment is not simply about achieving a score. It gives people an opportunity to reflect together, compare different views and build a shared understanding of how the organisation works and where further development would bring value.

The process helps your team answer essential questions:

What are we doing well?
What evidence demonstrates it?
Where could we improve?
What should we learn from what we see?

The result is a clearer picture of your organisation's current position and a sound basis for deciding where improvement should be focused next.

ASSESSMENT → UNDERSTANDING → IDENTIFICATION

02 — BUILD KNOWLEDGE & ENGAGE PEOPLE

Prepare your team through practical Eurofortis training.

Before organisational excellence principles and the EFQM Model can be applied effectively, the people involved need to understand the approach, its purpose and their role in the process.

Eurofortis provides a choice of practical training options for leadership teams, quality professionals, self-assessment teams and employees. The appropriate training is selected according to your organisation's previous experience, needs and intended next steps.

Training combines the necessary knowledge with practical application, helping participants understand organisational excellence, the EFQM Model, self-assessment and continuous improvement and preparing them to actively participate in the next stages.

The aim is not simply to learn about EFQM, but to ensure that your team is properly prepared to put it into practice.

TRAINING → UNDERSTANDING → APPLICATION

01 — SET THE DIRECTION

Clarify why organisational excellence matters to your organisation.

The process begins by understanding why your organisation wants to introduce an organisational excellence approach and what you expect to gain from it. The motivation may be to strengthen management practices, support strategic development, build a stronger culture of continuous improvement, better understand organisational strengths and improvement areas, or prepare for future EFQM recognition.

Leadership should establish a shared understanding of this purpose and ensure that the decision is supported across the organisation.

Together, we help you clarify your starting point, expectations and ambitions and select an approach that fits your organisation.
